Graduate Student Scholarships
General Scholarships
Established in 2023 by the Ronnenberg family in honor and memory of Francis Griffin Ronnenberg, who served on Mercy University’s Board of Trustees (1999-2010). The scholarship provides tuition assistance for graduates and undergraduates.
Established in 2021, this scholarship provides support for a student matriculated into a Mercy University graduate program, full or part-time. Student must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.0 in their undergraduate studies. Applicants must submit a personal essay that includes one or more of the following: educational experience, involvement in community service, leadership roles, what this scholarship award means to you, obstacles overcome, and future aspirations.
To provide support to Mercy University undergraduate and graduate students.
Business and Accounting
To support a Mercy University student who has completed their undergraduate degree at Mercy and will be pursuing a graduate degree in the Family Nurse Practitioner program and/or Physician Assistant Studies in the School of Health and Natural Sciences, or the Masters of Business Administration program in the School of Business.
To provide scholarship assistance for students who are pursuing a master’s degree in Mercy’s School of Business with preference to a M.S. degree in business analytics.
To provide scholarship assistance to support students in the 5th year portion of the 4+1 BS/MS in Public Accounting program.
To provide tuition assistance to students in the MS portion of the “4+1” BS/MS in Public Accounting Program. Students will be selected by the Accounting Faculty and receive an award of $1,000 per quarter term up to a maximum of five quarter terms. Eligible students must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
An annual award to a Mercy undergraduate alumni majoring in Business who intends to pursue an MBA. The Fellowship will be awarded on a competitive basis, involving the submission of a project essay, a transcript and an application. The successful student will be provided with funds to supplement tuition assistance during the year the student is enrolled in the MBA program. To be eligible students must be new, not re-admits or continuing students.
To provide assistance to students pursuing a master’s degree in the Mercy University Graduate School of Business. Preference should be given to a female student in the School of Business.
Education
For five-year B.S./M.S. undergraduates. A $2,500 scholarship each school year to one student committed to pursue a career as a special education teacher. The School of Education will make a call for applications each year. Please contact Mary Ellen Hoffman at 914-674-7334 for more information.
Health Professions
To support a scholarship of a graduate student enrolled in a major witihin Mercy’s School of Health and Natural Sciences.
To support a Mercy University student who has completed their undergraduate degree at Mercy and will be pursuing a graduate degree in the Family Nurse Practitioner program and/or Physician Assistant Studies in the School of Health and Natural Sciences, or the Masters of Business Administration program in the School of Business.
To provide scholarship assistance for a graduate student in the Communication Disorders program who has shown outstanding work as an undergraduate student at Mercy University.
To support a Mercy University graduate student pursuing a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy or the Doctor of Physical Therapy.
To provide tuition assistance for an outstanding student in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Mercy University.
Social & Behavioral Science
To provide assistance to a graduate student pursuing a Master’s degree in Counseling or in Mental Health Counseling.
