I'm currently researching the clinical application of dietary health behavior change talk and health promotion approaches in an interprofessional (community health) clinic that specializes in pre and type 2 diabetes mitigation. My research focus is typically qualitative, but also around the application of a method called 'conversation analysis' that is useful in understanding how we as humans achieve actions in communication, in life and in all institutional settings.
Specific research (ongoing now);
- Systematic Review: How has Conversation Analysis been used to understand Dietary Health Behavior Change Talk? (under review).
- How comfortable do graduate and pre-service health professionals feel about giving dietary advice to adults at risk of and living with type 2 diabetes?
- Conversation Analysis of One-to-One Consultations between Dietitians and Adults at risk of and living with Type 2 Diabetes.
- Conversation Analysis of Dietary Education Groups involving Allied Health Professionals and Adults at risk of and living with Type 2 Diabetes.
