Jillien is an LMFT, an AASECT certified sex therapist, and a supervisor. She has a private practice, where she primarily sees couples and individuals. Jillien received an MA in marriage and family therapy and art therapy from Loyola Marymount in 2013, and a PhD in human sexuality studies from Widener University in 2022. Her studies have mostly focused on the ways MFT programs approach (or don't approach) sex and sexuality courses. Jillien believes that sex is deeply intertwined with culture, identity, and relationships, and that all therapists should feel equipped to have these conversations with clients.
Other therapy related interests include somatic therapy, grief and loss, and using creative approaches to apply old theories to modern clients.
Outside of therapy, Jillien loves to garden, read, cook, and do whatever creative projects she can get her hands on. She lives in the Hudson Valley with her partner, three pets, and a real garden for the first time in her entire life.
