Professor Judith Belliard is a passionate School Counselor and leader within the counseling field with over 15 years of experience across education and nonprofit sectors. Her focus being leading youth to right fit colleges and universities as a postsecondary plan.
In her role as a School Counselor for the past 15 years within New York City Public Schools, she has provided guidance to 1000s of students working in partnership with different schools in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. Through different roles in her career, she has also been a support to new counselors beginning their practice within schools.
In the most recent years, she has focused on the building of comprehensive school counseling programs districtwide within New York City Public schools. The foundation of school counseling services, programs, and plans across New York City is set by comprehensive school counseling programs, encompassing guidance curriculum, individual planning, responsive services, and system support.
Judith has been a member of the Mercy University faculty as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences since the Fall 2019. She has brought knowledge and expertise from her specific experiences working in urban public schools within the New York City Public School system which is a complex system for school counselors to navigate due to its numerous policies, procedures, and resources to her graduate students.
