With over two decades of experience in nursing education and clinical simulation, Karen Koziol brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Mercy University. As an Adjunct Instructor and Director of Clinical Simulation, Karen has been instrumental in developing and managing state-of-the-art clinical skills and simulation labs, ensuring that nursing students receive hands-on, practical training in a safe and controlled environment.

Karen teaches a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses, including Nursing Informatics, Community Health Nursing, and Nursing Leadership and Management. Her commitment to integrating technology and innovative teaching methods into the curriculum has greatly enhanced the learning experience for students.

In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Karen has played a key role in academic advisement, course development, and policy formulation. She has also contributed to the establishment of simulation labs at multiple campuses and institutions, including a significant project in Kochi, India, aimed at advancing healthcare training in geriatric care.

Karen's dedication to nursing education extends beyond the classroom. She has provided invaluable support to prospective and current students through academic advisement, recruitment events, and clinical placement coordination. Her collaborative approach and ability to build strong relationships with healthcare agencies have been crucial in securing clinical sites and enhancing the overall educational experience for nursing students.
