Dr. Kristy Lebron is a passionate School Counselor and social impact leader with over 25 years of experience across education and nonprofit sectors driving systems change and advancing educational equity through youth development and community initiatives.
In her role as a Bilingual School Counselor for the past 20 years in the New York City Public Schools, she provides strategic leadership in the development and execution of initiatives supporting over 400 high school students. Dr. Lebron spearheads efforts to ensure students graduate with real-world skills, experience, and a strong plan to pursue postsecondary education and rewarding careers.
As a New York State School Counselor Association Board Member since 2012, she has maximized opportunities to advocate for the School Counseling Profession in legislative spaces that have opened doors and provided opportunities for growth in the field.
Dr. Lebron has been a member of the Mercy University family as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences since the Fall 2022. She has brought her knowledge and expertise of the School Counseling profession to the classroom, providing real world experience, innovative techniques and empowering future School Counselors to be leaders in their schools and communities.
