Dr. Marie Gabriel Gaboton-Swift is a dedicated and passionate educator with a strong track record in educational leadership and student advocacy. She has been serving as an Adjunct Professor at Mercy University in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences since August 2020, where she leverages her extensive experience to empower future School Counselors with the skills necessary to address diverse learning needs.
With over 20 years of experience in various educational roles, Dr. Gaboton-Swift has made significant contributions as a Teacher, a School Counselor, and as Director of Guidance K-12. She has developed and implemented comprehensive counseling programs that address students' academic, social, and emotional needs. Additionally, Dr. Gaboton-Swift has served as the District Testing Coordinator for K-12, where she coordinated the implementation of state and national standardized testing programs, ensuring compliance and effectiveness throughout the district.
Most recently, she held the position of Acting Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services, providing strategic leadership and oversight for Special Education, counseling, health services, and social work, significantly enhancing the district's ability to support student success. Her innovative implementation of restorative practices and school counseling programs has profoundly impacted student engagement and behavior.
Dr. Gaboton-Swift is a sought-after presenter at conferences, where she shares her expertise on topics such as ethical dilemmas in counseling and strategies to close knowledge gaps in school counseling. Fluent in Haitian Creole and French, she is particularly sensitive to the needs of diverse populations and advocates for inclusive practices that embrace cultural differences. Through her commitment to equity, resilience, and inclusivity in Education, Dr. Gaboton-Swift continues to inspire students, educators, and the community, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to achieve their full potential
