Mercy College suffered a great loss with the passing of Michele S. Lee, MSLIS, M.S. ’06, Pd.M., honoris causa, ’15 in June 2021. Michele was the Head Librarian of the Manhattan Campus and a beloved faculty member for nearly 30 years. At the time of her death, she was completing her dissertation to earn a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Walden University. Michele truly exemplified life-long learning. She was instrumental in establishing the Manhattan Library, overseeing the transition to the new campus space and ensuring that our students had access to all of the support services needed to pursue their dreams of a college degree.
Mercy has memorialized Michele by naming the MercyManhattan Library in her honor and establishing the Michele S. Lee Endowed Scholarship for Lifelong Learning. To make a donation to the Scholarship fund, please click here.
